so sleepy

I'm tired right now, but tomorrow there will be pictures of costume stuff. I was really tired tonight and kinda didn't do such a couture job of the side vent hemming on my vest, but I doubt anyone will notice. Some day I'll care enough to rip it and redo it. All that's left now is to put trim on my vest. And tomorrow I need to test my saber to make sure the glue will hold. I don't think the emitter's on very well. But we'll see. I need to start getting to bed earlier I think. I'm so exhausted. A lot of the time. And earlier my back was really bothering me. I mean I get back pain sometimes anyway, just it was really starting to hurt.

Work:
This morning I got in and the cheese was back in the egg case. I became depressed and said, "All things are wearisome more so than one can say." and "Meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless, a chasing after the wind." And I gave up. I wasn't moving it again. I was upset that I had no where to display the chocolate half gallons that went on for 99 cents today on the three-day sale, but oh well. They want cheese in the egg case they can deal with loss of sales. They want to give away my holding power, fine.

Later Julie came up to ask where I was displaying the chocolate half gallons at, because corp wanted us to make a whole door for it. ha. haha. Yeah. Right. Where? I told her I had no room, that I was going to display in the egg case but you know, cheese is in the way. She said she thought it was moved. I told her I did that Wednesday. That I keep moving it and Darby keeps putting it back. So she and Bret talked about it and Julie herself moved it over to the cheese case.

I did get to display in one of the coolers up front. Which is good. I never get to put displays up there.

Someone put hot pockets in my damage cart. *sigh*

I ended up tearing up and almost crying later. I was doing my order and someone was lurking to the side. They seemed contently intent on the yoplait so I ignored them, they were just trying to decide which flavor right? No, she waited until the moment I knelt down to make me stand up. I made sure to groan and act like it was such a pain to get into standing. Which it was, my knees and back hate going up and down repeatedly and quickly like that. She pushed some yogurt half off and left it so I  had to fix that. A little later I was by the coffee mate and this guy reached over my head and stood there leaning over me for a few moments. No excuse me, no sorry. Then I had to go check, but thankfully I didn't have to check him out.

They ripped up the tiling on one half of the store and it's all sticky and weird. They'll grind it and coat it. Nutrition is up on wheels, poor Anita. I'm glad she wasn't here yesterday. Timmy says they lifted up one end of the shelving and put wheels under then did that to another end, and they did that with all the aisles. Anita wouldn't have been able to handle watching that.

They're still working on the bathroom, but they did fix the lock on the unisex. Good.

And like I said, lots of markdowns. Even already. 25lb bags of flour for 5.00. There weren't very many so I only got one. I also found the Kroger Sinus and Allergy PE pills for, like, a dollar. I really don't take them often, in the last month I might have taken two and one of them was actually for sinus. I also found a can opener, I don't know how we keep destroying them but we do. And I got water in my old temperature reader stick so I got another one. And I found key lime bar mix so I got a package of that. Bonnie has me on the lookout for a toaster and a blender, which those things are all on wheelers right now and will probably be marked down at some point. But if I see them marked on Sunday I'll grab her some and she can decide if she wants them on Monday.

I was going to get out a little early because of my overtime from Tuesday. I was going to leave around 1:30 but they wanted Dustin to go check for a half hour to cover one of the checker's lunch. So I stayed till 2:07 I think it was. Hey, if they wanted me to get out early they shouldn't have sent my night guy up to check. Cause I had to stay back and offload grocery while he was checking. Which, btw, they sent an oven (for service deli? maybe bakery?) on a horrible pallet. I couldn't get the jack out from under it so I had to get the fork lift and ram the pallet at the same time someone pulled on the jack. Nice way to ship something that probably costs more than I make in a month!

Bonnie got hurt. She was trying to get around a pallet of produce that was in the middle of the brown doors and as she got around it the edge of one of the doors grabbed her shoelace and tripped her. She went down hard. Hurt her leg and wrist. She says if it swells up bad she's calling in tomorrow. Which would be lovely as I'm supposed to do dairy tomorrow. So if I have to receive... well... I'm not working 14 hours. So they'd either have to deal with me leaving at 1 or call someone in. And forget me cutting back on overtime. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get me to stay till 3. I would do it. Money is always good. But Bonnie's pretty tough, I think she'll be ok. I hope so. It's 8:30 and I still need to get ready for bed.
