Some people will stay courtesy clerks forever...

Work
While doing the shelf reviews today I found strawberry milk in with the chips.

We had a suspended order that Anthony put in my cooler. He said he'd checked it and there were no frozen items in it. Later I discovered there was a bag of frozen bread right on top. So I put that in the grocery freezer and left a note on it saying, "One bag frozen bread in grocery freezer". Later a bagger came back to retrieve the cart and came up to me with the note.
Bagger, "What does this mean?"
Me, "It means there's one bag of frozen bread in the grocery freezer."
Bagger, "...*blink*..."
Me, "...A bag in the freezer, it goes with the rest of the order."
Bagger, "...Where is it?"
Me, "In the grocery freezer."
Bagger, "..."
Me, "It has a big sign over it that says 'Grocery Freezer'."
Bagger, *wanders off*
Me, *follows*
Bagger, "..."
Me, "It's this one here, see." *points to sign that says 'Grocery Freezer'*
Well. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Baggers aren't hired for their intelligence.

We were out of most of the Kroger Cottage Cheese on the shelf and I got to use my line, I love it. I never get to use it but I used it and it made me so happy.
Guy, "Do you have any cottage cheese?"
Me, "Which one?"
Guy, "The ones on sale."
Me, "Fat Free, Low Fat, Large Curd, Small Curd, or With Pineapple?"
I usually only really want to use that line with milk. Like when I'm doing markdowns and I'm covering two or three doors and someone asks if they can get some milk. Ok, sure, which kind? Smith's, Darigold, Meadowgold, Country Classic, Viva, Lactaid, Kroger Lactose Free, Private Selection Organic, Private Selection Soy, Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla, Strawberry/Banana, Gallon, Half Gallon, Quart, Pint, Skim Delux, Skim, 1%, 2%, or Whole? It's like, gee, I'm sorry, I seem to have left my ability to read minds at home today, you'll have to help me out a little.

And at one point I had to go around to move a 24oz cottage cheese from the 16oz shelf back down to the 24oz shelf and it took much longer than expected. First I walked down there but just as I got to that door an old lady was walking up at just the right speed to where if I moved forward she'd think I cut her off, and if I stood there she'd stare at me like I was weird. So I stood there and waited for her to go past. It just so happened someone had abandoned their cart next to where I was standing and had come back for it and I had to jump out of their way. And then finally I was able to get to the door but someone else had a question about a markdown cart cause night crew didn't take the signs off it from the product that had been in it previously so I had to take down the signs and throw them out. I came back only to notice there was yogurt all over the floor so I ran back for some paper towels. But just as I got to the backroom Mike came up and asked me what to do about a special order for Pepsi so I told him to tape it to Bonnie's desk. I got the paper towels and went back out only to find a woman and her two daughters were walking all over the yogurt taking yogurt of their own off the shelf. The smallest one (5, 6?) thought it would be neat to stand there and stare at me as I waited for them to move. So they moved and I wiped up the yogurt which had been tracked quite a ways. And the person who dropped it knew they did it too cause I found the broken one stuffed back on the shelf.

I washed those juice shelves I had flipped the other day. Some of them anyway.

Food
Today's food is canned beef stew (kroger brand) with jiffy cornbread on top. Baked in a casserole dish at 400 for, oh, I dunno, about 20 minutes. I checked it at 16 and forgot to reset the timer so I just came back a few minutes later. It's cooling down right now, but it looks yummy.
