Innocent Kitty

I don't really expect anyone reading this to understand but I have to say it somewhere. I've joined Team Xandra at Neopets. It's one side of the current Plot. A sort of story where we all get to help decide how it goes. Technically it's the dark side, but it makes sense. "The faeries have unimaginable power, and what do they use it for? They make soup, they paint neopets, but most of the time they just sit prettily on their clouds, so far above it all, and they don't do anything." hehe, that is so true. Also, being in on the Hanso/Brynn ship has paid off. They're so cute. In fact Xandra is so awesome that if this were a bigger deal I wouldn't mind making a costume for myself of her. I wonder if I did if anyone would get it. Probably not. I'd have to hang a sign around my neck what says, "I am a neopet".

Also at Neopets, the Halloween event included quests, and one of the quests told you to find Bonju. No one knew where he was, and that was the biggest question anyone had to ask about the Halloween event was "Where is Bonju?", "Who is Bonju?", "Bonju?" So for the Advent Calender today's gift included a book titled "Where's Bonju?" it's a sort of Where's Waldo type book. I think that's awesome. Bofett, my Quiggle, didn't want to read it but my Xweetok, Lexia, did.

Cats:
Me and Victor were in the living room earlier when we heard a crash. Atton perked up and looked down the hall to see what had happened. Suddenly Bonecrusher came running in full speed, and dropped down in front of the fish tank, sticking his head around the corner as though tracking a fish. When I got up to investigate he looked up at me like, "Oh, hi mom! I've been watching kitty-tv all day, isn't it fascinating? Wh...why are you going down the hall? Everything's ok down there, really." I actually couldn't figure out what he'd done because the only thing out of place was a bottle of glass cleaner that was on the floor. He might have been trying to get up on the shelf over the washer and missed, knocking the cleaner off and onto their food bowls.

Work:
Yesterday when I went to go to work my car was stuck and I couldn't get it out. So I got Victor and he couldn't get it out so he took me to work in his truck. I ended up being about 30 minutes late. No one even noticed. I worked extra hard to catch up. And later when I was filling yogurt Julie was surprised when I told her it takes twice as long to fill yogurt now than it used to. Management: Living in a fantasy land.

Victor laid down a bunch of ice melt and I was able to get out this morning using a many-many point turn to get the car sideways enough that I was almost turned around completely and as I got out onto the main drive (the gravel street that goes past my house that is connected to the pavement) the tail end of my car kinda whipped around and hit a large pile of snow, bounced off, and whipped around the other way. Video game skills took it in stride and I actually used that to help get me going. Mind, when I say my car's tail end whipped around, I was going about one or two mph, so it's not as dramatic as it sounds, but it was different so I like to make it sound bigger and more exciting than it was.

Here's my schedule for next week:
Sunday: 11-7
Monday: 6-2
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: 6-2
Thursday: 11-7
Friday: 6-2
Saturday: 8-4

Also, at one point today Julie and Zhaun came up to me and said that the reason Dustin was working with me on Sunday was to help me move stuff out of the cooler. Wait, what? I guess no one bothered to tell me that they're remodeling dairy Sunday night and we have to empty the cooler. Great. They asked if I had ordered light for today. No, course not. I couldn't have. My order went out Wednesday and I found out today. If I'd known yesterday even I could have ordered a light milk load, but oh no. They're redoing the floor and I hope this means giving me a drain so I can spray the floors clean. Also I'll apparently have a door of organic milk. Poor Anita, she has such a tiny little cooler section now, she has an end cap of milk for the time being but she was cut down a lot. I wonder if I'll have to take over ordering and stocking it now or if she'll still do it. I remember ages ago we had organic milk in the dairy before but I think it was gone by time I took charge. I was in Nutrition at the time and I think we had to fill it but mostly I forgot about it. Anyway, the meat department is giving me one part of their coffin case for me to put milk and ad items in. We have to have the dairy empty by 6PM on Sunday and the next morning we'll put it all back. My backstock has to go on pallets and we'll put those in the trailer. We're to turn the thermostat up, cause now it's set to frozen. We'll probably do that a few hours before we load our stuff up to give it time to reset. And the shelves are going into the meat cooler. I'm not certain why I work till 7 on Sunday if there'll be nothing for me to do after 6. What with Dustin being there 12-6 I had presumed I'd have 7-3 or 6-2, but I guess they want me to stand around and do nothing for an hour after the remodel people get in. From the sound of Dustin's voice when we were talking about it he's going to try to weasel his way into getting out of working on Sunday. He hates working Sunday, and he has 46 hours next week.

Everyone in grocery has about 48 hours next week. Because it's just so much cheaper than flying people up from Utah. Did the consider the morale of their employees? And we're supposed to be all super cheerful the following week when we re-grand open? Ha! By Wednesday after next we'll all be fit to walk out. Bonnie's already threatening it. They had the door open today and Zhaun laughed at her for being cold and she says if she gets sick she's not coming back to work. Course she has threatened to walk out in the past, there's even been a time or two Zhaun has taken me aside and asked if I would keep an ear out for the phone in case he had to call me in if she didn't show up. Or once or twice he's asked me how serious I think she is about her threats. How serious do I think she is this time? I think she went home, took a nice hot bath, had a good dinner, played with her cats, talked with her husband, maybe watched a movie, sewed a little, and she'll be her same old cheerful self by morning. So there's maybe a 30% chance she's serious. I'm sure she was dead serious when she was saying it, but she'll calm down.

We got dividers for the yogurt. So now I need time to put them in. Maybe that's what I'll do with that extra hour on Sunday.

They have these neat signs over Pharmacy and Service Deli that sorta pop and hang. It's hard to describe but it looks neat. Like there's vertical boards on the wall, evenly spaced with room between them so it gives the appearance of 3D stripes, then hanging at an angle over these stripes are the words.

We also no longer have aisle numbers. eek!! I hope those come back! I really do not want to memorize the layout of the store by "Third aisle after frozen" or something.

Remember I complained that the cooler case for cold 12pk soda was a waste? I was wrong about it, it was just temporary, they moved the single sodas/juices/waters over there.

They painted more yellow. They did the base under my doors, they even painted the emergency exit doors. That really surprised me. I don't think I've ever seen emergency exit doors painted like that before. They sure blend in now, I hope there's never an emergency where it's dark out.
