boxes

I bought some of those Reese's Klondike bars at work the other day since they were on sale. While they are nummy they aren't really worth buying again. They're fairly thin, and crumbly. I don't regret getting them but I will probably not buy them again.

I made baked ziti like I said I would but we ended up just watching tv instead of HP.

We tried out a new army shooter kinda game, Arma II. It's ok I guess. I get motion sick walking. Not bad, though, so I was able to play for two hours without too much stress. It's more of a serious game.

I packed up another box of misc SW stuff I had laying around. I believe it's all picked up now except for a few things that are too big for boxes and two or three little things.

I also packed another box of books. I tried packing our larger ones, like hardcovers. On top of these I put Victor's Mad magazine collection and two Insiders I'd missed before.

And then I packed a box of stuff. My fake flowers, more of that rose garland I'd missed, two planters, a vase, various dish towels, garden work gloves, the 3-tier wire mesh hanger thing you see in kitchens a lot, and both of the clocks we have.

I believe I only need one more little box for books and then everything else can go in the big boxes. I don't have any more little boxes right now. I have four big boxes so after I fill those up I can bring home a little box inside more big boxes.

lamp

Yesterday we bought three of these lamps for our new house. Isn't it pretty?

Here is the light we got for the new kitchen since I think an overhead in the kitchen might be easier than a lamp.

Here's my main box corner.

I've spent some time today going through a cd I have of pictures I'd taken ages ago. Most of them are from 2006 as far as I can tell. I found one from what I guess was 1998 and one that could be either 98 or 99 but I'm going to guess at 99. It's just kinda weird to see myself as an 11-year-old and go, "Wow, Victor was 21 at that point." And think what all I was doing at that time and what he was doing and we were in such different worlds. But, like he likes to say, we may be ten years apart but he wasn't dating me when I was 12!

So I decided to compare how I used to look to how I look now but I had to go back almost a year to find a picture of my face. Mostly I'm taking pictures of the back of my head. Since I was taking pictures of our new lamp and stuff anyway I took some pictures of myself and I hated all of them and promptly deleted them. I'm just not photogenic at all. In fact most pictures of me are just ugly. The one from when I was 11 is kinda cute but otherwise I'm just super ugly in almost all my pictures. I know it's weird to hear someone say this but the picture on my driver's license is in the top three best pictures of me from the last ten years. It's kinda sad though, because some day my future kids will be looking through albums wondering why there's only pictures of Victor and the cats and none of me. Victor's just not into taking pictures as much as me and I'm really ugly in pictures anyway.

Well anyway, I want to make baked ziti today. mmm!

Victor wants to watch Deathly Hallows part 1 with dinner today. And that's fine, I should enjoy that. I saw the trailer for part 2 today. WARNING DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER FOR DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS! I can not believe they put one of THE biggest spoilers of the ENTIRE book right there in the trailer. It's about as bad as when they released the soundtrack for TPM before it hit theaters and one of the tracks was titled "Qui-Gon's Noble End". The spoiler in the trailer is on the same level as that, possibly even worse cause people probably could have guessed Qui-Gon would die. Otherwise the trailer was delightful and I can't wait to watch the movie.

not as angsty a post as I'd intended

Sunday was rather nice out, all sunny and beautiful. It even got up to 60°.

I used to love Easter. It used to be one of my favorite holidays. Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. On Sunday I was even starting to feel happy. I allowed myself a moment of contentment to think about the nice weather and hum some hymnals. Then I got to work and the world squashed me down again.

Firstly, Julie dumped her crazy on me. "Ok, it's slow now but as soon as church lets out it'll be insanely busy and we'll have every checkstand open and you won't be able to go on break cause you'll be checking so I want you to go on break at 11:30." I got to work at 10:00. "Oh, and face wall deli. And fill the marie calander pies." I ignored what Julie told me and went about my day like normal and went on break around 3:00. We were never busy. We were steady and got backed up two or three times for a few minutes but nothing major. After about 3 or 4 it was dead. Usually that's a busy time for us but not this Sunday. It was just dead. Like I could almost imagine it was 5:00 in the morning that's how slow we were But during the time we were steady the customers were mostly their normal Sunday-Agro selves.

And you know, I used to be able to do it, to smile at someone while inwardly thinking how much I hate them. But I just can't seem to bring myself to keep it up. Used to be whenever corporate said jump I'd do it without a second thought. Now I do the cat thing where my ears twitch and I might stand up, yawn and stretch and turn around to go back to sleep. With a little prodding I can be convinced to move.

The other day I wound up bringing home boxes and buying my markdowns because Victor happened to be out so he stopped by and he took the boxes for me while I bought stuff.

Bonnie's asked for the 15-21 off for her vacation, which is the week before I put in my notice. Everyone's going to wonder why she asked off in May. They'll find out a week later, I guess! lol

Victor used his new mower the other day and he really likes it. It's almost silent and it does a really good job. It's in the shed now. Which is good! My poor foot. It was aching on and off the last few days but I think it's healing up pretty good.

I don't have a lot in the way of plans for today. Maybe some more packing. Cause while I have 1 month and 15 days left at work we only have about a month until we're out of the house. And I'm going to make another pizza today cause I really liked the one I made a week ago.

Wound up with about 46 hours for last week. This week I have 32 because Zhaun wants me to use my last personal day.

pack rat

The more I pack things we really want to keep and take with us the more other bits and pieces of stuff are left laying about. You know what it's like if you haven't cleaned under your couch in a few months and then one day you pick it up and move it what it's like underneath the couch? Yeah, that's sorta what's going on in the house right now is that all the good stuff is being picked up and moved and the miscellaneous bits are being left.  I just need to go through these odd bits and see what's worth keeping. Not to say that everything I haven't packed are things we're not sure on. Some are things that we might want over the next few months or things I haven't gotten to yet.

I've been going through all these various papers and stuff that I've saved and I've thrown a lot away. There was a time when I would log each and every time I was called to check, who called me, who could have checked instead of me, and how much overtime it caused me to get, and etc. I guess I did this for quite some time because I've thrown away tons of them and yet I keep finding them. I've also thrown away a lot of the paperwork I've taken home from work like about two years worth of scan out reports. Various emails about ICM stuff that's changed. An ICM training manual. A guide on how to use the IDR, which I wouldn't need anyway cause I know how to use it. I've also thrown away a lot of paycheck stubs from past years. Victor says I don't need them because I have w2s or whatever. He also says I don't need to keep old bills and things I've read online says I don't need to keep them either. But I dunno, I have them all nicely organized in folders and I feel bad to throw them out. Maybe I'll throw out anything that's older than three years. I know at work we keep our paperwork for 3 inventory cycles for most things and something like 5-8 years on alcohol related stuff. So I suppose 3 years is a good way to go with it. I've also found old receipts I don't need to keep and I'm not sure why I kept them. I probably just set them aside and forgot about them. Also been finding some coupons I saved and never used and expired. Oops, oh well. And I found some store ads I threw out. Old At'Cher cards from work, I don't know if we even use the At'Cher program anymore anyway (there used to be a list of who had the most cards and your co-workers turned them in about you when they saw you doing something good). Old store newsletters. Discs for free programs that came with my computer when I bought it that I don't need. So far I reckon I've filled an entire garbage bag with just useless papers and stuff. I say I reckon because I've also been putting actual garbage in these bags as well. That's not to say I'm finding garbage too, the garbage is all new, like when I get done eating cereal and the box is empty or something.

Today I rearranged some of the livingroom. I wound up the extension cord that we had used for Victor's truck during the winter. I wound it up on this handy plastic wheel thing that our christmas lights came on. I knew I saved it for a reason. And I cleared out some coats I won't be needing for a while because Victor's always complaining that I have too many coats and he can't hang his up. So I made room for his. So now those are picked up from where he usually drops them behind the couch. I moved the shoe rack over. Turned a box with an Atari and some games in it sideways. I filled a box with various books that I don't think we'll want to read in the next few months (and books we've already read) and stuck it in the spot I cleared. I also tidied up my box corner and made more walking room.

Last night I finished the box with various pc games and taped that up. Today I finished up the various SW stuff box and taped that up too.

Now I only have two boxes left so I'll have to figure out when to bring more home. I want to buy the markdowns I've been hiding in my cooler tonight. But I'm not sure if tomorrow would be good because Dustin might ask why I'm taking home a pile of boxes. Night shifts are always easiest for bringing home boxes. Unfortunately the same people tend to work nights. We'll see. I might bring them home tonight and buy my markdowns at the same time. I'll have to see who's working.

For now it's 9:20 and I have to leave in a bit here so I should get eating my snack. I'm nowhere near hungry enough for an actual lunch so I'm going to have a snack instead.

braided egg bread

This is the egg bread I said I'd make. Yes, there is a bit of cooked egg on top. That's because I forgot to paint the top with egg before I put it in the oven and only remembered to do it 15 minutes before it came out of the oven so I was trying to do it quick and I guess I glopped it on too thick in places. Oh, well.It was fine. Here's the recipe I use. About the only things different I do are: I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I use 3 eggs and 1 egg yolk. And I use 1/3 cup sugar instead of a tablespoon. I never remember to buy poppy seeds or I'd try that too. I braided it using this video tutorial. Since I guess I'd made my rolls too long or something and my bread came out really long I rolled it up into a cinnamon roll shape. Next time I'll try to make it shorter. It was nummy, as always. I'm using yeast that expired in December, but it's been in the freezer so it seems to be working just fine.

Here's a picture of Atton. He was sleeping and it was so cute. Notice my empty bookshelf? Eerie, isn't it.

Neopet's Neggstravaganza has started. I did the pre-setup stuff and got my prizes from that. I can't do those kinds of quests easily. I had to look it up in guides. I pride myself that now that the actual Negg Hunt is on I'm doing it all by myself mostly. The first one I figured out was in the Haunted Woods. From the hint I thought I had to do Brain Tree and Esaphogar quests, so I did. And nothing. So I looked it up and turns out the Negg was somewhere in the Haunted Woods and I didn't actually have to do any quests. Oops. Oh, well. Yesterdays was easy, I got that on my own, it was in the Lost Desert. Today's was clever. I figured out it was at the NC Mall, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Turns out it's an item that's mixed in with all the other items for sale and the price is "Free". lol Yes, this is something I'll have to do every day but I don't care, I'm having fun and they're short and easy find-its.

I'm not sure where I left off on talking about packing, so I might have already said that I packed the rest of my Star Wars books (except Force Heretic's 2 and 3 cause they're next for me to read) and then started cramming in various other books until it was full.

I also have a nearly-full box of the rest of mine and Victor's computer games, like my Sims 3 and it's packs and expansions (all except Outdoor Living cause I need that one to play), my other Sim games like Mania, City 2000, Sims 1 Double Deluxe. Star Wars Galaxies. And etc. I kept out KOTOR2 cause I might want to play that one. Considering there's a book about Revan coming out later this year I kinda want KOTOR1 on pc now too. Anyway, I also put my SW Lego Visual Dictionary in there. Some various Sega Genesis games, which is odd that we have them since I don't think either of us has ever had a Genesis. And various other little games. It's not full yet, though.
And I started another box for the various loose Star Wars stuff I have laying around the house.

what spring?

Just another beautiful spring day up here in Montana. This is what I awoke to. Not surprising considering how hard it was coming down yesterday.

I tried the White Reese's Eggs. They're ok, I guess, kinda bland. They'd be good for if you wanted to focus mainly on the peanut butter.

I picked up Deathly Hallows yesterday. I saw packs of 1-7 that I kinda wanted but I had to keep reminding myself that I'm waiting till after 7 part 2 comes out. It's pointless to buy a pack now when it's not even complete.

Been seeing and hearing of people I haven't seen or heard from in a long time. First I saw Kyle at Super 1 then one of the drivers told me he'd seen Greg (old dairy manager) at the Great Falls store, then yesterday I saw Angie. Angie used to be my friend when I was a bagger. I didn't speak to her, cause what would I say? But I'm pretty sure the baby in the cart was hers (her mom was there too). I guess it makes sense, she is about my age. Jill, her older sister, has been married (last I knew) for 5 years therabouts, I think. I liked her too, because she was into HP, LOTR, and SW, and stuff. But Angie was more reserved so we friendlier than me and Jill.

I have ambitious plans for today. I want to make some braided egg bread this morning. And then for dinner I intend on pizza. And while we eat the pizza we'll watch the new Tron cause I haven't seen it since the theater. Yesterday we also got some ChocoVine, which is the only wine I've ever drank. It's chocolate red wine. I first saw it at work while doing the vendor shelf review a month or so ago and we got it to try. We also carry a white chocolate but I'm not going to try that. For me, we mix it 1 part wine with 3 parts chocolate milk. We got it yesterday cause it was on sale, but otherwise we generally aren't buying it unless it's for our anniversary or christmas or something, I think. But I really like it. I tried to mix it myself yesterday and I dunno, I either messed it up or I just wasn't in the mood because I had to make myself finish it. I wasn't going to waste it but Victor didn't want the rest. I think the setting has to be right, like a good meal or a movie or cuddling on the couch or something. Just sitting at our desks doing stuff on the computer wasn't really worth it.

My foot's doing ok, still tender, still achy. I should try to stay off it today since it'll be the only time it really has to get some good healing in. Seeing as I work 6 days this week and it being the week before Easter. No one at work knows because I don't feel it's a bad enough injury to spread it around. I would kinda like to shove it in bakery's face. They're all, "I can't come get one pallet of freight and pull it across the store because my leg hurts." Yeah, well, I'm offloading two trucks a day three times a week with a broken foot, how do you think it feels to hear you make your lame excuses? At least Gary has a real excuse, it was his first day back yesterday and he's on light duty, obviously. I still don't know how much of his thumb he cut off. It can't be much cause the bandage really isn't very small. His back was turned so I got to get in a good stare. I should ask Wanda sometime.

grr

Yesterday I washed four buckets. I packed one of the dry ones from the last batch with sweaters and long sleeved shirts. All Victor's, so I could only fit 4. I also started packing a box with computer games, like SimCity 2000, Sims1 Double Deluxe, Sim Mania pack, Mall of America Tycoon which I could never get to work right. I may or may not do more with that box today.

I sold 412 pounds of butter on Friday (where as my average was about 100-150 a day for the last week). I discovered last night this was because Oprah decided you can make butter sculptures. So if this keeps up I'll be out of butter before my next load. Oh, how I hate her. Apparently most people who work in grocery stores do. At least I have that as a fallback, if Bret gets mad I can simply say "Oprah" and he'll start swearing and I'll be off the hook. I'm glad it's not just me. I mean, there's the time she made an egg nog recipe and I was selling eggs like it was Easter, and then it was some yogurt smoothie and I sold out of yogurt overnight. Apparently one time she said meat was evil and meat dept's sales dropped tremendously. That would suck. I'm glad for me it's always been running out of product, that's much better than having too much.

Bonecrusher is useless. Apparently his breed had a lot of natural cat instincts bred out of them. Atton keeps trying to show Boney how to hunt but it just isn't working. He brought a live mouse into the house the other day and Boney spent hours tracking it on and off and Atton was there helping by batting it back into the hallway when it tried to escape, which sometimes it did make it off into the livingroom or bedroom. At one point Boney leaned in and touched noses with the mouse and it gave him a little bite, poor Boney. Finally Atton rolled onto his side, picked up the mouse and flung it into the air, then he got up and backed away. Boney rolled onto his side and then looked at Atton as if to say "I flopped but it's not dead, Atton, what do I do now?" Atton got frustrated after a few more attempts at this and then just killed it and ate it himself. Then he brought Boney another one, this one dead, and Boney played with it for a bit then just left it and Atton acted like he was sighing and went and ate that one too.

It was fairly warmish yesterday. Spring is here, despite the occasional snow/hail. It's been raining a lot, which is nice.

Update about my foot: It was sorta hurty yesterday and by time I got home kinda tingly. Victor felt it again and this time was saying some of it was probably muscle issues so he rubbed it a little and it feels a bit better.

broke my foot

I fractured my left foot this morning. -_- Yay me! I ran it into the lawn mower that we got yesterday. Yes, it is still inside. Victor's being all Man-With-New-Toy about it and doesn't want to take it out and put it in the shed because if he takes it outside he'll want to use it but it's been too rainy/snowy. I didn't really run my foot into it any harder than I normally do. Though lately I guess I have been doing this a little harder than normal. I sorta shattered the corner of one of my big toenails the other day. But usually I'm always running my little pinkie toes into stuff, at least once a day or so. It's so common I don't even think about it much and I can't begin to count the number of times I've lost those toenails. But today something just went wrong and this little area of my foot right past the toes hurts a lot and has been craving warmth. Victor says it feels like a fracture. I'm not too concerned about it, people break bones in their feet all the time. I can still walk fairly normal, just putting a lot of weight on that side of my foot (like the last two or three toes) isn't so great right now.

I went in to get my paycheck today and Bret was there and he was all, "*angry like I'd done something wrong* Who's in dairy today!?!" uh... Bret's the one who changed the schedule and gave me Friday off because he was freaking out about the visit on Wednesday and wanted me to work on Tuesday to get ready for the visit so Dustin could do cleaning and hang signs and such.

Anyway. Victor made me nummy Asian food today. We put broccoli in with the meat and used bean sprouts. The bean sprouts were different, they were kinda neat but towards the end when they were getting coldish they weren't as nummy as they were at first. I really liked the noodles today. We had to use udon instead of buckwheat but I really liked it.

I packed a few boxes today. First I finished off that one I started yesterday with all the books. I added some Japanese thing of Victor's, which I wrapped up in paper cause I know it's special to him. And I put in a stray GI Joe guy and a Speed Racer car. I also put on top the Jango comic I found I'd missed and last year's Michael Jackson calendar.

Then I packed up my Star Wars trading cards as well as my SW Scrapbook. I put in a few empty photo albums I have. (a few years ago we had some on markdown at work, two books for 3 dollars!) A full album. The little one Anita gave us with the pictures she took at our wedding. And the rose garland we had up at our wedding. I used to have it hanging over my sewing area. It looks naked without it. But into the box it went.

And as for our actual wedding album, I had them in a black one with gold trimming and on the type of pages you peel back and then press down again. But I wanted them to go into one of the ones I'd gotten on markdown cause it was nicer and has the kind of display where you slide the pictures into the holes. So I did  that today. There's still about 100-some empty slots, but I figure we can put other pictures in there. We plan to go back to where we were married every year and take a picture of us there, and we've so far been getting a few different pictures. So we'll just put those in there. There's a slot on the cover of the album for a picture on the front of what's inside. I wonder if I still have a notice left. When we made our invitations we made actual invitations and then smaller slips that were for announcing that we sent to people who wouldn't be able to come, like my Grandpa. So if I have an announcement somewhere, and I'm pretty sure I do, I can slip that in there. It was really nice to look through those pictures. Made me all happy. Oh, I didn't pack it because I want to look through it on our anniversary next month.

The next box was for Star Wars stuff and the rest of Victor's Joes and the rest of our Indiana Jones stuff.

I wore my hair up different today. Basically what I did was I made a small half-up pony and then braided and hair taped the rest then let the pony down and made two braids from that. I crossed the braids and pinned it, brought them up and crossed and pinned again, and I kept crossing them until I had a big circle thing going and ran out of hair. It made a really interesting bun. I think it would look pretty as an outer detail, like if I split my hair into three, bunned the middle, then did the braid and cross thing around the bun. hmm...

Here's my hair. I took the picture myself, and this is after I'd been wearing it about 10 hours. See what I mean about the bun? There's a gap in the center that a regular bun might fill nicely. Or something. I'll have to play. I do like this though cause I like bunning my hair. I just don't like how far out it sticks. I prefer it to be flatter to my head. And this bun seems to do that.

There's our mower. The sun was shining on it weird. This is also a decent picture of one of my pile of boxes and caselot stuff. *shudder* I'm not sure I really like this mower. It's that wheel there on the right that got my foot. We have covered the blades so the cats don't step on them.

Bonecrusher squeezed in there and was so cute I had to get a picture.

so happy

I wound up looking at how to do the bookshelves this morning. It looks pretty easy to just build them into the wall between studs. And there's a pretty rose patterned moulding at Lowes that will work great as a footer and header.

We did go to Wal-Mart and while checking out I saw a new Reese's. It's called Crunchy, I think. It was pretty good. I believe I might have had it before but I don't know. Still, I wouldn't buy it a whole lot but it is nummy.

While going through the Easter stuff someone walked by an end cap and knocked off a bag of candy and kept going so I stopped and picked it up and put it back on the shelf. She turned and said, "Oh! That just jumped right off!" and I said, "And you just left it." ha! I really did say that too, but it might have been too low for her to hear. I hope she did hear it.

We got going so late in the day we just had Subway for dinner and we'll do the asian stuff tomorrow. We skipped the water chestnuts and instead we're doing bean sprouts. I'm really liking the baby corn so we're doing that too. Victor says it's not technically a food that goes into this kinda meal but I don't care, I really like baby corn.

I got a weird kinda headache where my eye was all dry and hurty. I was in cheerful spirits, though, which is odd for me to be cheerful and nice.

We got a rotary push lawn mower thing at Lowes since we were out there and had the money and we need to begin mowing the lawn here pretty soon anyway. I put it together and I took a picture but the camera's in the other room. It was 119 dollars, but it's really nice. It came with a bag to collect clippings, the handle's longer than the other one and is curved to be easier on the back or something and it's a bit wider than the cheaper one.

While at Lowes we looked at the moulding and other things (mostly we'll be buying from Home Depot, we just happened to be at Lowes today) and when we got out to the car I was in such a good and happy mood. I felt wonderful thinking about our new house and how pretty it'll be. I was so happy I was almost crying. We'll probably do a whiteish linoleum with a red floral pattern and we'll do lots of flower things. Maybe a powdery blue for curtains. We also decided to go with 20x20 on the house instead, but we're still debating whether or not to do two floors. I say it'll be much cheaper to do two floors and Victor says it'll be cheaper to do one floor. With two floors all you'd need is a set of stairs and another floor. With one big long one story house you need twice the amount of boards and twice the roofing, twice the foundation, twice the insulation. I mean, I might not be so horribly opposed to it if Victor can prove it's actually cheaper. The way we were going to do the second floor was to just get something like 10-12' boards and then put the ceiling of the first floor at 7' and then put the second floor on top of that and have it be 3-5' at the edges and then the slope of the roof would be high enough in the middle for someone to stand. But we can add it up and see how much it would be both ways.

I packed a box when we got home, I put my Harry Potter books in. 1-7, as well as my misc. books like Beedle the Bard, Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them (mystical?), Quidditch Through the Ages, Mysteries of Book 7 (or whatever, Mugglenet put it out), The Snape Debate, and a SS poster book. I put Victor's collection of Naruto comics in. The rest of my historical diaries collection. That Amelia Bedelia book I just got, as well as the Winnie the Pooh numbers book. I also wrapped up and stuffed in a frog knick knack.

I have another box started, this one full of my choose your own adventure books, my Zelda comics, my Indiana Jones books, and my comic books (like Peanuts and FarSide) and children's books (like Little Critter). I have some room left, though, and I don't know what to do with it so it isn't taped up yet, that will have to wait until tomorrow.

hmm

Read more Two Towers. Sam is so gay, he even thinks how much he loves Frodo as he stares lovingly into his beautiful face. I mean, I knew it was joked about but reading it...! Maybe I'm just easily amused sometimes. Anyway, Gollum is still and deffinately my favorite character. But even he talks to no end and in circular fashion with meaningless details that have no bearing on the end point. Oh, and I ran into Faramir! eeee! Second only to Aragorn. I actually started crying in the theater during ROTK. But even he's boring me with his endless speech. At least Aragorn shuts up. I think Faramir was talking for three or four pages straight. Or it felt that way at least.

I know if I say what today's plan is it probably won't happen. But here goes: I want to pack some more. And we were thinking of going to Wal-Mart for ingredients for an asian meal for tonight. Yesterday I had Wanda in meat dept. cut me up some stir fry meat and I got bamboo shoots, but we don't carry baby corn and we were out of water chestnuts at work. Plus I kinda want to try a different vegetable, I'm getting a little sick of water chestnuts, despite how much I loved them at first. One thing I'm not getting sick of is the meat! I love whatever it is Victor does that cooks the stir fry meat just so and then he puts sesame seeds on them. Nummy! I actually almost took the smallest package of meat Wanda made (she made three to give me choices) but I wound up taking the medium sized one. Just because I remembered just how much I like it.

Anyway, I have an unopened cold throwback pepsi in front of me and I'll open that as soon as I post this. I'm deciding what to do next. I've sorta hit a wall in Sims Medieval. I can't decide which quest to do next. I really want to do the one where the Jacoban priest "tracks down the heathens, anyone who doesn't confess must be forced to, anyone who confesses must be purged" or some such and the secondary hero is either the knight or the spy and the knight's the kinda person who wouldn't really want to go along with that, since I tried to base him on Victor. The spy, however, I intend to base on Mara Jade, who would have no problem with this scheme. But I need 40 more resource points in order to make a spy. I'd be there but oh no, I had to make a kingball court and a watcher pavilion! I could do two more quests and get the points I need, but I'm afraid if I do the hunt down the heathen quest will be gone. *sigh*

I'm avoiding Fallout for a few weeks because last time I played I got so motion sick that I was reduced to a huddling pile of swaying sickness. ...all in under a half hour. Which, sadly, is not a record for me as Portal has made me this sick in under 10 minutes. *sigh* Oh, Portal. I do want to play it and beat all the bonus stages or challenges or whatever, and I want to play part 2, but I'm not sure how it's going to be possible. It is a really awesome game, though. I wonder if I should take motion sickness medicine for this? hmm... I'd have to see how cheap or expensive it is first.

I don't feel like digging around behind my computer to unplug the camera and plug in my controller to play Burnout.

I'm saving Plants vs Zombies and Civilization and such for after we move. Besides, I hear Civ5 has unlimited play-time. This alone makes me want to abandon Civ4. I hate how you don't have time to do anything. Even if you play on the longest time setting you can only wipe out maybe two countries before the end of time. Or build four or five parts for the space ship. Usually I wind up with a Time Victory. It is a very addictive game, though. And apparently Civ5 has no time limit. If I have two more turns until my spaceship is complete the game won't end until the ship is done. I hear some people can win the game in something like 30 turns but I don't see how that's possible since it takes that long just to build your first warrior.

I could just go with Battlefield. I might, you know.

I just want to do something until my hair dries so I don't have to deal with it while I'm out puttering around the livingroom or whatever. I also wanted to research building bookshelves into walls. Cause I'm planning on that for our new house. Maybe I'll do that for a bit.

packing and organizing

Yesterday we bought some canned dried food that was on some sorta sale thing at Rosaurs. They had pallets of the stuff lined up by produce.

And today I packed some more. I got all my Star Wars books from Jedi Apprentice up through Darksaber in one box. So basically that's things like the entire Jedi Apprentice series, a few Jedi Quest, the young Boba series, a few Last of the Jedi, a Clone Wars choose your own adventure, the OT choose your own adventure, the OT journal series, a few Clone Wars era books, a few pre-OT era, and then almost every single book available from ANH onwards.

I packed a box of various foodstuffs we might want right away. Some things, like a few of the teas, I'm not sure on, but I figured it couldn't hurt. And I've never tried the sinus soother before. Here's the complete list:
Box 015
Dried foods: Powdered Honey, Honey Covered Banana Slices, Lowfat Milk Powder, Powdered Butter, Vegetable Stew Blend, Scrambled Egg Mix
Pudding: Various
Marshmallows: 2 bags, large
Tang: 2 Containers
Tea: CandyCane Lane, Tension Tamer, SleepyTime Extra, Green, Chocolate/Hazelnut, Sleepytime Sinus Soother, Vanilla Caramel
Mayonnaise: 2 Containers
Seasonings: Ice Cream Sprinkles, Basil, Rosemary, Sugar/Cinnamon, Honey, Ketchup, Thyme, Fennel Seed
Hot Chocolate Packets

I also finished packing the box that has the rest of my bolts of fabric. I had put my posters in there too, the ones short enough to fit. But today I decided to consolidate the box with my yarn in it (that wasn't taped up) with this box so I moved my yarn into that box and taped it.

I also organized the corner with our boxes and caselot food. I'll take pictures later of our boxes and stuff. I'd do it now but the camera's out of battery power and I don't know where any of the battery chargers are. I thought I knew but they're not there. So tonight or tomorrow I'll ask Victor where he put them.

And Victor will order the charge controller on Friday.

packing sw books

Yesterday I wound up playing Battlefield and it helped a lot. Then around 6:00 I made dinner. Taco casserole. I thought I was out of beans but this morning I found some. lol Then me and Victor sat on the couch and watched tv until bedtime. It was really nice.

Today I got a lot done. I packed 3 buckets with sugar. This time I put a date on them so I know when I packed them so I can keep rotation good since I have about three or four other sugar buckets.

I packed my Star Wars comics, Encyclopedia, and various kids and small books such as the "I am a Jedi by Anakin Skywalker" and "The Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide" and stuff. I started to overload the box, though, so I had to stop because it was weighing too much. This is why the smaller egg boxes are perfect for books; the large ones would be too heavy. So I taped that up and cleared some room behind the couch for it.

I have another box in here now but I haven't started it yet. I stopped to eat an apple. So while doing that I pulled up the floor plan of our new house and I drew it out on paper and we'll pick colors and such later. So far all I know is that we're going with linoleum for the floors and paint for the walls. And I'll want some rugs, so I wrote down where. Like I want one in front of the sink, one under the coffee table that'll be under our feet when we're at the couch, and one around the bed so that when we first get up in the morning we don't land our feet on cold floor. I think under my sewing area would be bad cause I'd have to always be stopping to shake them out and such. Same with under our computers. Though our first winter might change my mind about this. lol I figure things like curtains and rugs can come last because they aren't necessary, and that way we can make sure they match the rest of the house.

Bonecrusher just jumped up here and flopped down half on the desk and half on me (I'm sitting really close because the heater's on and I have my feet near the vent) and it was so cute! He sat here for a few minutes and then left.

Victor's looking at getting a charge controller soon. We'll probably order that this week.

I have another bucket ready that's all washed up (I have three more waiting to be washed) so sometime I'll see what kind of clothes I want to pack in it. Things like sweaters, I think. Then I'll run them all through the laundry and then put them in the bucket with a dryer sheet stuffed in with them.

We'll, I have about 20-30 minutes before it's time to start getting ready for work so I think I'll pack that other box I brought in here. I'll pack up my essential guides, I think. Not sure what else, but we'll see!

breakfast pizza

This is the breakfast pizza I made today, using this recipe. I did not use tomatoes as the recipe said. I think next time I'll use less peppers because I didn't enjoy this as much as I could have. Victor loved it though. I used a mixture of almost half whole wheat and half white flour.

I watched Tangled this morning. It was pretty cute. I'm not sure I'd buy it unless I found it cheap somewhere (I borrowed the one I watched today), like in a 3-5 dollar bin. But I did like it. Warning: Spoilers beyond this point.
She has a pet chameleon, who was adorable. I had issue with the horse who acted non-horse-like. But it is a Disney movie so I guess I'm just glad the horse didn't talk. Wouldn't the paper lanterns catch things on fire? I could just see one landing in the forest and starting a fire. Also, despite everything, she was raised by the witch. That person was her mom for nearly her entire life. Kidnapper or no there's still that attachment, that bond. I don't see the witch living with a "daughter" that many years without developing some kind of motherly love for her. And yet Repunzel doesn't cry or anything when her "mom" dies. I mean, yes, she was kinda busy at the moment, but you'd think there'd be some grief later. The feeling of being someone's daughter doesn't just disappear and snap just like that the moment you discover you're not really their daughter. It might be a little strange, but funny how she didn't see herself as a victim until she learned she should feel that way. I did like the guy, though, he was pretty neat. I don't think she'd remember something that happened when she was a baby, though. And what was with the frying pan thing, are they scared kids will stab each other if they see swords being used by anyone other than a "bad guy"? Hate to tell ya but frying pans are far more accessible to children than swords. I know I'm complaining but I really did like the movie. It was cute, it was funny, it was sweet, and I really liked it.

I washed four buckets and lids. They're drying now. Otherwise today has been a very blah kinda day. I don't know what to do with myself and I feel like I'm trying to exist for the sole purpose of getting myself through till tomorrow. Not really how I pictured my day off! I feel unenthusiastic and lethargic.

Booksale

I took a milk and honey bath this morning but I think I didn't use as much honey as I should have because it had almost no affect. I think I was concerned that it would be sticky. It was nice, though. Milk baths always make my skin, well, milky and creamy and beautiful.

I put my hair back by taking two sections from the front, braiding them, and then ponytailing them behind my head letting the two braids hang loose behind me.

We went to work first so I could do my order and get caselot stuff. We were mainly concerned with things we might want after we move. We got macaroni and cheese even though I don't really like the cheese part, because I can just have mine without cheese, I used to as a kid anyway. And who knows, maybe after all these years I'll like it again. It's worth a try. We got sugar and tomato sauce and cream of chicken and stuff like that. Unfortunately I don't think chicken is part of it this year so we'll have to get that some other time. We got ramen, of course, and we eat so much of that that I'll get more later. We ran out of time to do the rest of our shopping, though.

Then we went to the mall and got books at the booksale. Not as great as some years but we did come home with a huge pile of books, mostly Victor did, actually. Here's a list of what we got in no particular order, just however I pull them out of the bags, starting with the ones I picked:

  • The Lost World - Michael Crichton. We already have the first book, so why not.
  • The Haunting Hour - R.L. Stine. Because. I liked his books as a kid.
  • Another original SW novel. This one is marred with a stamp of some sort inside it and was the 7th printing.
  • The Shadow of the Wind - Carols Ruiz Zafon. It's a mystery I think, looks entertaining.
  • Stories from the Old Squire's Farm - C.A. Stephens. Something my mom would probably like, it's about kids who are orphaned by the civil war and go live with their grandparents and it's about their adventures.
  • Sphere - Michael Crichton. Something about aliens, looks entertaining.
  • The Girl She Used To Be - David Cristofano. I almost put this one back, it's about a girl who skips out on witness protection? Victor thinks it looks stupid and I was iffy but curiosity drove me to get it.
  • Merry Christmas Amelia Bedelia. I liked Amelia Bedelia as a kid.
  • Numbers. It's a Winnie The Pooh child's learning book. It's never too early to be gathering good finds like this for the future. It's a good old-fashioned hard page that won't rip kinda book.
  • Sarum - Edward Rutherfurd. It's basically the history of England crammed into 1,033 pages.
  • Two Magic Eye books because I like magic eyes.
  • Frontier America: The Far West. Kinda self-explanatory. It's a history book.

We jointly picked out A Treasury of Christmas Songs and Carols. The rest are things Victor picked out.

  • Treasured Tales of Christmas
  • 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, Featuring a Coca-Cola Santa Tribute
  • Forgotten Realms: The Spine of the World - R.A. Salvatore
  • Winter Moon - Dean Koontz. I wouldn't have picked it, but it probably isn't bad.
  • Bad Cat. Not actually funny, but it's still cats.
  • Liberty - Garrison Keillor
  • Forgotten Realms: Homeland - R.A. Salvatore
  • Hard Wired - Walter Jon Williams. He says he read it before and it was good.
  • The Demon Spirit - R.A. Salvatore. Cover looks good.
  • Everything's Eventual - Stephen King. A collection of tales.
  • The Good Guy - Dean Koontz. Looks good.
  • The Darwin Awards. Should be funny.
  • Integrated Principles of Zoology
  • Cosmos - Carl Sagan
  • Ranger Rick collection.
So overall I guess Victor only got three more books than I did. Which is still a lot for him, usually I get the most. For some reason the crowd bothered me more than it usually does. But it really died down quick.

We went to Super 1 after that to finish our shopping since I didn't want to go back to work. We got some veggies for a breakfast pizza I'm making tomorrow and we got me an apple. We also got hot pockets, which were on sale, for tonight. We got some orange juice and soda as well. And I'm almost entirely certain I saw Kyle! I haven't seen him in ages. I don't think he saw me though. He was the dairy night person and would have got the department when Greg left if he hadn't quit by then. He left to go be an electrician. He's the one who told me that "There's life outside the cooler." before he left. I kinda wish we had gone through his lane so I could tell him that I'm getting out of there. He was kinda big-brotherly to me

Took my braids down, they were irritating me. They're hanging loose now. I may or may not leave them.

green grass

For all the blizzard-like snow yesterday it sure seems like it's back to spring again. I noticed today just how green our grass is.

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night to find Victor was having a nerd thing going fixing stuff on his laptop and just messing around and doing stuff to make various games work. He didn't quite know when he'd be going to bed. He hasn't done this in a long time, not since we were first together. I'm just glad he wasn't still awake when I got up to go to work, lol. But my being awake with him reminded him to eat and so he put in some chicken patties. I wish I was like that. If I sit at my computer for a time I find myself grazing. If Victor's at his computer he might not eat for 3/4 the day.

Anyway, I sat up with him for a while and cuddled against him on the couch. After a time I said I wasn't sure if I wanted to eat or not. So he said he knew I'd  be sitting up with him cause he knows me so he'd put in a patty just for me. :) He's so sweet! So we cuddled and ate the chicken patties and he worked on his stuff some more and I finally went back to bed after I let my food settle for a bit.

And it's moments like that, last night, random food and cuddling in the middle of the night while he's being all dorky and nerdy are what get me through work days like today.

blizzard in april

We went out today to get the new Tron movie on dvd and on the way home it started to blizzard. ick It's calmed down now but it's still snow/rain ing.

I wore my brown coat for the first time today. It's so warm and cuddly and nice and I love it so much. It feels much the same as my snuggie. I even wore it for a while around the house when I got home. It's amazing how much warmer it keeps me than some of my other coats.

cat pictures

So I got a gold trophy for the Daily Dare like I thought. You can click the trophy to bring up a list of the games and the scores I got for each game. They gave a few extra prizes for gold trophy. I got a site theme which I'm currently using but I'll probably just go back to the basic theme because there's apparently pictures or something at the top but they're cut off by my adblock. Then they gave out two NeoCash "prizes". Oh, big joy. What am I going to do with those!? Spend them I suppose. Stupid waste of a prize. With regular prizes you can sell them to buy something you DO want. With these I can't transfer them so they're basically garbage to me. They gave out an NC prize once on the Advent Calender. I wound up with a hideous background I will never use and would love to sell but I can't.

Here's some pictures, dating from the 17th till present:

He's gotten so big! Remember when he was jut a kitten? Course he still is kinda a kitten.Compare to this picture from September:

Here's one of Atton on Victor's lap.

Bonecrusher in the dryer.

Again.

Cuddling cats.

Bonecrusher on my chair.

I touched him and he rolled over.

I woke up to this yesterday. This was taken at just  before 8:00 on the 3rd. Too bad we didn't wake up to snow on April 1st! It all melted before noon, but it's still been snowing some on and off.

time

Time passes weird in Sims 3. I was playing as the Physician and he was helping these women with their troubles. One was all, "No one wants to kiss me. Kiss me and see what I mean." So he did and she needed mouthwash so I got some for her. The next day she came back and was all, "Thanks, I'm getting lots of people kissing me now!" *cough*whore*cough* And then she goes on to say that she's married now, in fact, and they're trying for a baby. Wait, that fast? I just cured her yesterday! lol

april fools

Yesterday was April Fool's day but I just wasn't feeling it. sw.com posted something about a fanzine but it was kinda lame. Neopets made all the pets sick for a day and if you healed enough you got a special background, which I did. TFN posted about The Holiday Special being released on BluRay which was awesome. I set the clock ahead two hours so when Victor woke up he'd think he slept in. Victor reset my keyboard so that I thought it was broken. So it wasn't a bad April Fool's, it just lacked enthusiasm.

Maybe since the two things that TFN posted about last year came true (TaunTaun sleeping bag and the NJO comic) The Holiday Special on BluRay will come true too. Everyone should watch the HS at least once. A person does not truly understand just how horrible it is until they've seen it. I managed to sit through it twice. Twice! I mean, if the first time was bad the second time made me feel like I was dying. ...but I'd be first in line to buy it if it came to dvd or bluray... Which is a good example of how the mind of a SW fan works. (linked to that site because the original site the article was posted on doesn't seem to be working and I can't find it anywhere else!)

I thought I had more to say but I really don't.
