I put my hair back by taking two sections from the front, braiding them, and then ponytailing them behind my head letting the two braids hang loose behind me.
We went to work first so I could do my order and get caselot stuff. We were mainly concerned with things we might want after we move. We got macaroni and cheese even though I don't really like the cheese part, because I can just have mine without cheese, I used to as a kid anyway. And who knows, maybe after all these years I'll like it again. It's worth a try. We got sugar and tomato sauce and cream of chicken and stuff like that. Unfortunately I don't think chicken is part of it this year so we'll have to get that some other time. We got ramen, of course, and we eat so much of that that I'll get more later. We ran out of time to do the rest of our shopping, though.
Then we went to the mall and got books at the booksale. Not as great as some years but we did come home with a huge pile of books, mostly Victor did, actually. Here's a list of what we got in no particular order, just however I pull them out of the bags, starting with the ones I picked:
- The Lost World - Michael Crichton. We already have the first book, so why not.
- The Haunting Hour - R.L. Stine. Because. I liked his books as a kid.
- Another original SW novel. This one is marred with a stamp of some sort inside it and was the 7th printing.
- The Shadow of the Wind - Carols Ruiz Zafon. It's a mystery I think, looks entertaining.
- Stories from the Old Squire's Farm - C.A. Stephens. Something my mom would probably like, it's about kids who are orphaned by the civil war and go live with their grandparents and it's about their adventures.
- Sphere - Michael Crichton. Something about aliens, looks entertaining.
- The Girl She Used To Be - David Cristofano. I almost put this one back, it's about a girl who skips out on witness protection? Victor thinks it looks stupid and I was iffy but curiosity drove me to get it.
- Merry Christmas Amelia Bedelia. I liked Amelia Bedelia as a kid.
- Numbers. It's a Winnie The Pooh child's learning book. It's never too early to be gathering good finds like this for the future. It's a good old-fashioned hard page that won't rip kinda book.
- Sarum - Edward Rutherfurd. It's basically the history of England crammed into 1,033 pages.
- Two Magic Eye books because I like magic eyes.
- Frontier America: The Far West. Kinda self-explanatory. It's a history book.
We jointly picked out A Treasury of Christmas Songs and Carols. The rest are things Victor picked out.
- Treasured Tales of Christmas
- 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, Featuring a Coca-Cola Santa Tribute
- Forgotten Realms: The Spine of the World - R.A. Salvatore
- Winter Moon - Dean Koontz. I wouldn't have picked it, but it probably isn't bad.
- Bad Cat. Not actually funny, but it's still cats.
- Liberty - Garrison Keillor
- Forgotten Realms: Homeland - R.A. Salvatore
- Hard Wired - Walter Jon Williams. He says he read it before and it was good.
- The Demon Spirit - R.A. Salvatore. Cover looks good.
- Everything's Eventual - Stephen King. A collection of tales.
- The Good Guy - Dean Koontz. Looks good.
- The Darwin Awards. Should be funny.
- Integrated Principles of Zoology
- Cosmos - Carl Sagan
- Ranger Rick collection.
We went to Super 1 after that to finish our shopping since I didn't want to go back to work. We got some veggies for a breakfast pizza I'm making tomorrow and we got me an apple. We also got hot pockets, which were on sale, for tonight. We got some orange juice and soda as well. And I'm almost entirely certain I saw Kyle! I haven't seen him in ages. I don't think he saw me though. He was the dairy night person and would have got the department when Greg left if he hadn't quit by then. He left to go be an electrician. He's the one who told me that "There's life outside the cooler." before he left. I kinda wish we had gone through his lane so I could tell him that I'm getting out of there. He was kinda big-brotherly to me
Took my braids down, they were irritating me. They're hanging loose now. I may or may not leave them.
