The more I pack things we really want to keep and take with us the more other bits and pieces of stuff are left laying about. You know what it's like if you haven't cleaned under your couch in a few months and then one day you pick it up and move it what it's like underneath the couch? Yeah, that's sorta what's going on in the house right now is that all the good stuff is being picked up and moved and the miscellaneous bits are being left. I just need to go through these odd bits and see what's worth keeping. Not to say that everything I haven't packed are things we're not sure on. Some are things that we might want over the next few months or things I haven't gotten to yet.
I've been going through all these various papers and stuff that I've saved and I've thrown a lot away. There was a time when I would log each and every time I was called to check, who called me, who could have checked instead of me, and how much overtime it caused me to get, and etc. I guess I did this for quite some time because I've thrown away tons of them and yet I keep finding them. I've also thrown away a lot of the paperwork I've taken home from work like about two years worth of scan out reports. Various emails about ICM stuff that's changed. An ICM training manual. A guide on how to use the IDR, which I wouldn't need anyway cause I know how to use it. I've also thrown away a lot of paycheck stubs from past years. Victor says I don't need them because I have w2s or whatever. He also says I don't need to keep old bills and things I've read online says I don't need to keep them either. But I dunno, I have them all nicely organized in folders and I feel bad to throw them out. Maybe I'll throw out anything that's older than three years. I know at work we keep our paperwork for 3 inventory cycles for most things and something like 5-8 years on alcohol related stuff. So I suppose 3 years is a good way to go with it. I've also found old receipts I don't need to keep and I'm not sure why I kept them. I probably just set them aside and forgot about them. Also been finding some coupons I saved and never used and expired. Oops, oh well. And I found some store ads I threw out. Old At'Cher cards from work, I don't know if we even use the At'Cher program anymore anyway (there used to be a list of who had the most cards and your co-workers turned them in about you when they saw you doing something good). Old store newsletters. Discs for free programs that came with my computer when I bought it that I don't need. So far I reckon I've filled an entire garbage bag with just useless papers and stuff. I say I reckon because I've also been putting actual garbage in these bags as well. That's not to say I'm finding garbage too, the garbage is all new, like when I get done eating cereal and the box is empty or something.
Today I rearranged some of the livingroom. I wound up the extension cord that we had used for Victor's truck during the winter. I wound it up on this handy plastic wheel thing that our christmas lights came on. I knew I saved it for a reason. And I cleared out some coats I won't be needing for a while because Victor's always complaining that I have too many coats and he can't hang his up. So I made room for his. So now those are picked up from where he usually drops them behind the couch. I moved the shoe rack over. Turned a box with an Atari and some games in it sideways. I filled a box with various books that I don't think we'll want to read in the next few months (and books we've already read) and stuck it in the spot I cleared. I also tidied up my box corner and made more walking room.
Last night I finished the box with various pc games and taped that up. Today I finished up the various SW stuff box and taped that up too.
Now I only have two boxes left so I'll have to figure out when to bring more home. I want to buy the markdowns I've been hiding in my cooler tonight. But I'm not sure if tomorrow would be good because Dustin might ask why I'm taking home a pile of boxes. Night shifts are always easiest for bringing home boxes. Unfortunately the same people tend to work nights. We'll see. I might bring them home tonight and buy my markdowns at the same time. I'll have to see who's working.
For now it's 9:20 and I have to leave in a bit here so I should get eating my snack. I'm nowhere near hungry enough for an actual lunch so I'm going to have a snack instead.
