Sunday was rather nice out, all sunny and beautiful. It even got up to 60°.
I used to love Easter. It used to be one of my favorite holidays. Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. On Sunday I was even starting to feel happy. I allowed myself a moment of contentment to think about the nice weather and hum some hymnals. Then I got to work and the world squashed me down again.
Firstly, Julie dumped her crazy on me. "Ok, it's slow now but as soon as church lets out it'll be insanely busy and we'll have every checkstand open and you won't be able to go on break cause you'll be checking so I want you to go on break at 11:30." I got to work at 10:00. "Oh, and face wall deli. And fill the marie calander pies." I ignored what Julie told me and went about my day like normal and went on break around 3:00. We were never busy. We were steady and got backed up two or three times for a few minutes but nothing major. After about 3 or 4 it was dead. Usually that's a busy time for us but not this Sunday. It was just dead. Like I could almost imagine it was 5:00 in the morning that's how slow we were But during the time we were steady the customers were mostly their normal Sunday-Agro selves.
And you know, I used to be able to do it, to smile at someone while inwardly thinking how much I hate them. But I just can't seem to bring myself to keep it up. Used to be whenever corporate said jump I'd do it without a second thought. Now I do the cat thing where my ears twitch and I might stand up, yawn and stretch and turn around to go back to sleep. With a little prodding I can be convinced to move.
The other day I wound up bringing home boxes and buying my markdowns because Victor happened to be out so he stopped by and he took the boxes for me while I bought stuff.
Bonnie's asked for the 15-21 off for her vacation, which is the week before I put in my notice. Everyone's going to wonder why she asked off in May. They'll find out a week later, I guess! lol
Victor used his new mower the other day and he really likes it. It's almost silent and it does a really good job. It's in the shed now. Which is good! My poor foot. It was aching on and off the last few days but I think it's healing up pretty good.
I don't have a lot in the way of plans for today. Maybe some more packing. Cause while I have 1 month and 15 days left at work we only have about a month until we're out of the house. And I'm going to make another pizza today cause I really liked the one I made a week ago.
Wound up with about 46 hours for last week. This week I have 32 because Zhaun wants me to use my last personal day.
