Persistancy

I knew I was going to pay for all those days off I got last week and the week before. A 10 1/2 hour shift on Sunday, 8 hours yesterday, 2 1/2 hours this morning, and then I work normal hours the next three days. Zhaun says I can try to get out early tomorrow. We'll see.

I was up till after 9:00 last night trying to get the AAA score on Kau-Jong. Neopet's version of mahjong. Or whatever official name it has, Victor was trying to tell me the different names and I don't remember them. It's all MatchyBlox to me. Anyway, after a while of not winning I checked the boards. Apparently the average amount of time it takes to win is about 8 hours. Some people were doing 10 hours, one person almost 12. A lucky few got it in 3 hours or less. I spent about 5 hours on it and no luck. I think I'll still get the gold trophy if I beat it before the end of the month but I missed out on yesterday's special prize for completing a game on the day it's announced on. The problem is that about 90% of the boards are not possible. Most people were having to reset them about 20-30 times before they got a board that they could clear. Doesn't help that there's a time bonus. You get 144 points per stage, and there's three stages. So that's 432 points. You need 801. You start with 360 bonus points and they tick down by the second. So to get the AAA score of 800 I would need 123 seconds per stage. Since stage 2 is so hard I'd go with about 130 seconds left on stages 1 and 3 and let stage 2 run down to 103. I'll try it some more in a bit here. I'm going to try to win today's game before I start on yesterday's. Today's game is Faerie Racers. Neopet's version of the tron racing game, whatever it's official name is, but I guess that's a good way to explain what it is though. My hand's all crampy and hurty from last night.

Today's plan is to go to the thrift store for more work pants. *sigh* I did make them last a good two months before I broke down and decided to just replace them. I've resewn those holes a few different times now and they don't last more than two or three days before they rip out.

And we're going to go to Wal-Mart and get cat food and some stuff for an Asian meal Victor's making us. I've come to really enjoy whatever it is he does with the stir fry meat and vegetables. Work doesn't sell baby corn anymore so we're getting it at Wal-Mart. We still have water chestnuts and we have lettuce.

I made taco casserole last night, which put Victor to sleep. That's why he didn't make me come to bed until he woke up around 9ish and realized I wasn't in bed yet. He made me go to sleep. He said he'd try playing the game for me. I explained how to do the daily dare stuff and watched him play a little. It was painful. I was like, "I thought you knew how to play this game?" he said he did. Um... ok then why are you repeatedly clicking on tiles that are buried? That's a newbie move that is. I remember the mahjong game my dad on the computer ages and ages ago. I used to love playing that. My favorite variation was the castle. I used to pretend there were good guys trapped in the dungeon and they were trying to break out of the castle by making holes in the walls. Sometimes they made it and sometimes they didn't. Sometimes they made a hole in a different wall than the one they'd started on. Sometimes they brought the whole castle crashing down around them, and sometimes they made multiple holes.

Anyway, I made myself do all my other online stuff (email, read the comics, etc) before I went back to try again so now here I go.
