Here is my lightsaber with the blade length adjuster on it. I used the sandpaper drill bit to make the bottom curve more to the curve of the pipe.
Here is the costume as far as I had it on Thursday afternoon. Since then I put a rolled hem on the tunic where a band would normally go. I used black thread in the upper looper and the straight stitch. And I used metallic green embroidery thread in the lower looper. However I then stitched with wrong side up in order to get the green on the front. I also sloppily hemmed the side vents on the vest as I said yesterday. This morning after this post I will hand sew the trim to the vest front. I have a gold frog I might put on, but it looks like the vest and tunic hold themselves closed nicely with the belt. I will be wearing a tan shirt under this as the tunic is open a little further down than I normally prefer. I might even pull out my old inner tunic and see if it's still wearable. Funny the reason I was going to redo my tunic was to make a new inner tunic and that's the one piece of my old costume I'm considering wearing. (other than the belt and cloak of course)
I'm proud of this. Something like three or four years ago I found a picture hanger on markdown, I think because it was missing a screw. And I thought to myself, gee, this would make a lovely d-ring lightsaber holder. So I bought it. And now it came in handy. It had a convenient hole in the middle I was able to put a screw-back rivet though. Which is great because if I ever want to do a clip-style saber again I simply take the rivet out and put the clip over the hole.
Here it is with the saber attached. I used pliers to bend it a little so that the saber wouldn't just randomly come off it.
Here's the packaging of the hanger, in case anyone wants to know. At this point I had already opened it, but oh well. You can still see what it is. I was holding the plastic box away from the cardboard back is why my finger's right there.
